Use of SII for sales tax reporting in Spain

What is SII?

From 1st July, 2018, the Spanish tax authority (AEAT) mandates the use of the new version 1.1 of the SII system for the immediate transfer of VAT related information. The former version 1.0 will coexist until 20th July, 2018.

The SII system for the immediate transfer of information on turnover-related information receives its first update to version 1.1, coming into effect on 1st July, 2018 – after just one year. The new version intends to eliminate various problems that have been spotted during operations by introducing relabeled or new fields and new codes for better transparency.

Learn more about “What is SII, Who needs to use it, the advantages etc.” in our first blog.

What will change with the new version 1.1 on July 1st, 2018?

  • Updated format of the AEAT XML messages, containing additional fields and content
  • New webservices’ version for communication with the SII
  • Reporting of additional transaction types

The description of the detailed changes of the SII version 1.1 are available on the website of the Agencia Tributaria (https://www.agenciatributaria.es).

With SEEBURGER, the complex SII process in the new version 1.1 can be quickly and easily implemented in order to avoid penalty payments
